In the forward bilge spaces, the original bitumastic was still adhering well everywhere outboard of the second longitudinal stringers from the keel. Basically, anywhere that was above the water line of the oil-covered Inboard Lake still had a like-new bitumatic coating. After talking to the Devoe Coatings tech dept., I determined that the best approach was to coat the entire bilge to the chine, painting over the bitumastic that was well adhered to the hull and in otherwise like-new condition.
