Unfortunately, when they built the old aft deck enclosure, they cut off the back part of the fiberglass helm enclosure. It was cut off vertically where the big C-channel beam comes down from the roof. With that 45* angle in the C-beam, which was the original design, the helm roof cannot possibly be as well supported as if the support beam were simply vertical. It was around this time that I started thinking sliding doors to either side of the helm station might be the way to go.
